About Allied Gardens San Diego

Allied Gardens is a community in central San Diego that is located 8 miles northeast of Downtown and 10 miles from the Pacific Ocean.

First developed in the mid 1950’s, Allied Gardens is situated between Interstate 8 and Interstate 15 and is bordered by Del Cerro to the south, Admiral Baker Golf Course to the north, Grantville to the west and by San Carlos to the east. 

Though primarily a residential community, Allied Gardens is home to Kaiser Permanente Hospital as well as a small business district (on Waring Road between Zion Avenue and Orcutt Avenue).

In terms of recreational opportunities, within the community consists a recreation center and pool (both located on Greenbrier Avenue), as well as Little League fields.

Fun fact: The name Allied Gardens comes from “Allied Contractors”, which was the name of the company owned by the community’s two developers.
