Coronado Ocean Front Attractions
The Coronado Ocean Front neighborhood is home to the following popular attractions:
Coronado Central Beach
Coronado Central Beach is the most iconic and highly regarded of all Coronado beaches.
The beach is flat with an unusually wide strip of sand between the boardwalk and ocean, which means even on busy days, it’s possible to spread out. A mineral called mica causes the sand here to glimmer.
Coronado North Beach (Dog Beach)
Coronado North Beach is located just north of Central Beach.
This is a leash-free (all year) beach.
Star Park
Star Park is located next to the historic home of L. Frank Baum, the author of The Wizard of Oz (the Emerald City is considered to be modeled after Coronado!).
The park, situated in the middle of Star Park Circle, is small but well worth a visit to relax, read a book, enjoy some yoga or have a picnic.
Sunset Park
Sunset Park is located across the street from North Beach (Dog Beach), just east of Ocean Blvd and north of Ocean Court.
This three acre, flat park is mostly suited for soccer games, as there are no benches and little shade. However, there is a small playground area on the premises.
