Development began around 2000, making The Bridges newer than the Covenant and some of Rancho Santa Fe’s older estate communities, while still mature enough to feel established.
The community is known for its rolling hills, canyons, creeks, olive trees, citrus groves, vineyards, seven signature bridges, and an iconic 18-hole championship golf course that runs through the neighborhood.
The Bridges is located north of the Covenant, south of Escondido Creek, west of Cielo, and east of Olivenhain.

The Bridges Golf
The private golf course was designed by Robert Trent Jones II and is an 18-hole, approximately 7,000-yard, par-71 championship course. It is known for its dramatic terrain, rolling fairways, canyon crossings, lakes, creeks, and the signature bridges that help give the community its name.
In addition to the golf course, The Bridges offers state-of-the-art practice facilities, along with a driving range and locker rooms that are considered among the best in the country.
Golf members also have access to the RCH Performance Centre, which includes two hitting bays for instruction and club fittings.
For many buyers, the golf course and club lifestyle are central to the appeal. This is not simply a gated neighborhood with a golf course nearby.
The golf course, clubhouse, sports facilities, and social environment are a major part of how The Bridges functions.

The Bridges offers a substantial club and amenity package.
At the center of the community is the approximately 36,000-square-foot clubhouse, which overlooks the golf course, lakes, creeks, hillsides, and bridges. The clubhouse has been recognized for its design and helps create the Tuscan-inspired country club atmosphere that defines much of the community.
The clubhouse also includes multiple dining venues and bar areas, giving members options for casual meals, more formal dining, private events, and social gatherings.
The Bridges also maintains a year-round social calendar, with member events and club programming that help make the community feel active beyond golf.
The Bridges also includes a roughly 10,000-square-foot Sports Centre with fitness facilities, wellness-oriented amenities, and space for exercise and recreation.
Members also have access to a 5-acre Tennis and Recreation Centre, complete with 4 lighted tennis courts, 6 pickleball courts (4 are lighted), a bocce court, and entertainment lounge.
Adjacent to the tennis and pickleball courts, there also is a covered playground, playing field, and a multi-purpose sport court.

The Bridges has one of the more cohesive architectural identities among Rancho Santa Fe’s private communities.
Homes here reflect Italian, Tuscan, Spanish, Mediterranean, French Country, or European-inspired design, with stone details, courtyards, loggias, arched openings, tile roofs, outdoor fireplaces, and indoor-outdoor living spaces.
That variety matters because smaller villas, semi-custom homes, and large custom estates can live very differently.
Some homes are positioned closer to the clubhouse or recreation amenities. Others are oriented toward the golf course, canyons, lakes, bridges, open space, or more private interior settings.
